Who am I?

Bettina Bonkas Portrait

After my studies and living abroad, I worked in responsible positions in the human resource departments of international companies.

Since 1994 I have been teaching English / Business English and I run a language school. Our way of teaching at my language school “Sprachen Sinn-voll lernen by Bettina Bonkas” is geared towards the different learner types (www.sprachen-sinnvoll-lernen.de). The way we learn, perceive and handle things shows throughout our whole life, also in our personal issues. That’s something I experience both in my lessons as well as in my coaching sessions.

I am an accredited coach with a private practice based in Wehrheim, I did my coaching training with the International Coach Academy (Australia). I am also a resilience practitioner, I took my
training both in English & German.

How did I come to coaching?
I experienced workplace harassment. This experience hit me pretty much unaware, not immediately but years later I felt the effects. I had two choices: I could go on seeing myself as a victim and dwell on it or I could move on. I decided in favour of the latter. I started working on myself, getting to know myself better and the people around me. I learned to accept the experience, to look at it from a different perspective and made sense out of it. I found myself and as a result I became self-employed, started a language school and found coaching.

I have been working with people throughout my entire life: first in the HR department of companies and as a trainer, later as a coach & trainer. Having experienced a bad time in my life, I have a strong desire to help other people and to support them on their way forward. Coaching gives me a wonderful opportunity to support people to pursue a fulfilled life with self-acceptance and clarity.
